Cummins expands versatile medium-duty portfolio built for every job

A comprehensive engine lineup at Work Truck Week demonstrates scalable performance for evolving commercial needs

Indianapolis, Ind.

Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) is strengthening its leadership in the medium-duty vocational market with a versatile power portfolio designed to meet the evolving demands of work truck fleets. Presented at NTEA Work Truck Week in Indianapolis, Cummins’ latest engine technologies highlight the durability, uptime and application flexibility operators depend on across a wide range of operations.

Leading the lineup is the Cummins X10™ mid-bore diesel workhorse to serve vocational, transit, pickup and delivery and regional haul customers. The Cummins X10 is built on the proven legacies of the L9 and X12, offering up to 4% and 2% improved fuel economy respectively. Its 10 liter platform reflects Cummins’ commitment to advancing technology that helps fleets reduce operating costs while maintaining the power and performance needed for the toughest jobs.

“Customers expect dependable performance from their Cummins engines, no matter the environment,” said José Samperio, Vice President and General Manager of Cummins’ On-Highway Business. “With the X10, we have heavy duty strength in a medium duty package to offer customers the versatility and staying power they need for every job.”

Designed based on the many applications and demands of heavy- and medium duty trucks, the Cummins Twin Module Aftertreatment system for the X10 engine meets strict emissions standards while maintaining durability, efficiency and performance. Built on proven architecture and technology, the system features separate DPF and SCR assemblies enabling flexible chassis integration while maintaining serviceability requirements. Additionally, the Cummins electric heating system delivers on-demand thermal management when and where required.

Alongside the X10 and aftertreatment, Cummins continues to offer proven, fuel diverse solutions for medium duty customers through its expanding B Series engine portfolio.

B Series Engines

The Cummins B Series remains an industry mainstay for vocational and work truck applications, delivering dependable performance, serviceability and fuel efficiency. The B Series provides customers with familiar installation, broad application coverage and a long-standing record of uptime and reliability.

B6.7 Octane

The B6.7 Octane extends the B Series lineup with a gasoline option for customers seeking an alternative fuel solution in a familiar footprint. As the first purpose-built, commercial-grade gasoline engine for medium-duty work truck and rental markets, B6.7 Octane combines diesel-like durability with gasoline simplicity to support dependable performance across operations.

Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel

The Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel is the benchmark for heavy‑duty pickups. Available in Ram 2500/3500 pickups and Ram 3500/4500/5500 chassis cabs, it delivers outstanding power, smoother and quieter performance, easier serviceability and significantly improved towing and acceleration compared to the previous generation.

It is designed for customers who depend on their trucks for real work during the week and comfortable drivability on the weekend—across construction, landscaping, vocational fleets, utilities, body builders, farming, recreation and fire/rescue.

Cummins experts will be available throughout Work Truck Week, March 10-13 at Booth #5501 to discuss application integration, vocational performance requirements and fleet readiness for future emissions standards.
