Semi-displacement hull for smooth sailing in Azimut style

Azimut, the world’s leading builder of seductive, fast-planing flybridge yachts, now builds vessels for long-range cruising.

The 43 navetta-style yacht is the fourth model in Azimut’s semi-displacement Magellano series. Smooth and unslammable, this stoic trawler comfortably navigates moderate sea conditions with excellent seakeeping; the semi-displacement hull form cleaves the waves versus skipping across the tops.

With increased waterline length and enhanced lateral surface underwater, the centerline’s rounded bilge section is a shock absorber in the waves. Broad, hard chines provide a flat, planing surface down the sides, reducing rolling. The long, central skeg providesdirectional stability. A vertical bow with an inverted bell shape provides a stable, softer ride.

Stylish, entry-level boat for long crossings

Exuding passionate, Italian design, the Magellano’s nearly vertical hull sides increase interior volume far forward for a roomy,Azimut 43 versatile three cabin layout. With hard top and open convertible options, this style of boat is loved by entry level mariners yearning to make long crossings and explore beyond the horizon.

“Refined Italian design is a multi-layered recipe with sex appeal, audio, lighting andmarketing,” said Peter Kurki, sales executive for Allied Marine. This company represents Azimut brokerage listings, popular with first-time buyers and sellers. Often times, they’re moving up to a bigger Azimut or Ferretti with aggressive trades.

The appeal of Azimut as a strong owner-operated vessel goes beyond easy operation. The Azimut allure is a complete, sensory experience immersing the yachtsman and passengers in a sexy, hot-looking yacht that turns heads,” Kurki explains.

“Loaded with creature comforts, the audio in an Azimut is like a night club with an amazing sound system,” said Kurki, adding that the visibility from the well laid out helm is exceptional. “The full aft and forward view inside the cockpit allows you to see over the bow and also look aft to see past the stern of the boat comfortably.”

Reliable, worldwide service network

Azimut has counted on Cummins for dependable power packages for over 10 years. With the latest propulsion and equipment technology, Cummins supplies twin, 355HP QSB 6.7 slim-line engines. The ZF inverter, control levers and helm instruments on the optional flybridge are equipped with a bow thruster and integrated joystick control making every mariner a dock commander under pressure in the marina or fuel dock.

“The MDKDN 11Kw Onan generator set is standard with all accessories required for installation and an optimal speed with low consumption, giving this boat an even greater appeal in terms of costs for the end user,” said Stefano Unali, European sales manager for Cummins Marine.

Unali feels the Cummins worldwide network for service and warranty is a benefit for mariners everywhere who want worry-free time at sea. The Cummins network is a complement to Azimut’s peace of mind warranty providing three-year coverage for vessels under 73 feet through the Marine Max service center network.
