Fleming 55 motoryacht

Voyage confidently in the Fleming 55, the ultimate passagemaker

Open oceans. Icy fjords. Inland rivers. Tropical seas. Aleutian Islands. Florida Straits. Designed for serious cruising in every condition, the Fleming 55 is a raised pilothouse motoryacht for a capable owner-operator voyaging the world in confidence and comfort.

The Fleming low profile provides stability and comfort at sea, making for easy boarding from the side decks. The fine entry forward with flared bow provides a soft entry and comfortable wave ride not prone to slamming in heavy seas, with no wave-slapping at anchor.

The full-length deep keel improves directional stability and protects the runningFleming 55 motoryacht gear from accidental grounding. Fleming Yachts is known for a strong, semi-displacement hull not subject to breaches when grounding, eliminating moisture from entering the solid FRP hull core.

Building a safe, reliable vessel requires seaworthiness, stability and construction integrity with a vessel designed for functionality, easy boarding and an accessible galley underway. Wide, protected sidedecks feature a Portuguese bridge for safe access in weather conditions. The full-size helm on the optional flybridge provides cruising with a view, comfortable seating and a huge boat deck. The dedicated full-beam pilothouse offers excellent visibility, access to port and starboard sidedecks and a generous console space for the navigation package.

Meticulous detailing includes beautiful, composite, Burrwood cap rails without the maintenance of varnished teak. Full-sized domestic appliances in the open-plan galley and a semi-customizable salon layout create comfortable, social spaces. Gentle, short staircases with rails and handholds make not only for safe transitions onboard, but also create negative space with ample storage on long journeys. Built in cabinetry ensures structural integrity with a solid fit and finish lasting a lifetime.

Since her initial launch in 1986, the Fleming 55 is heralded as one of the finest cruising yachts in her class. Retaining classic lines, the model evolved with constant refinement, incorporating owner feedback for form to follow function as the builder approaches its 300th hull.

Cruising long ranges efficiently, whisper-quiet ride

The hull shape provides superior fuel efficiency and a comfortable ride in all conditions, whether island hopping, coastal, or offshore cruising for an elegant, safe passage in style. Traditionally, crew berth forward in the bow, saving guests from the pounding associated with overnight passages. However, Fleming utilizes this space on the 55 for the master stateroom, assuring a peaceful, quiet, smooth and vibration-free ride in seaways.

The standard power package includes Onan marine generators and Cummins engines, providing proven, dependable performance, meeting the latest emission requirements with impressive torque curve and a great power to weight ratio. The semi-displacement hull provides great performance with standard twin Cummings QSC8.3 500HP common rail engines, enabling a 2,000NM range at eight knots. The maximum sustained cruising speed is about 17 knots where her moderate dead rise provides a comfortable ride. Cruising at an economical speed of 10 knots on longer passes keeps fuel burn around 10 GPH.

With essential systems duplicated for full redundancy and maneuverability, the Fleming 55 provides a whisper-quiet, smooth ride. Sound shields and optimized, double-soft-mounting minimize noise and vibration with the highest A/C and electrical systems for the most comfortable boating experience.

Easily accessible for service and maintenance, the QD (Quiet Diesel) Onan digital series are the first marine generator sets with self-monitoring capability and network communication. Offering an optional digital display with user-friendly self-diagnostics displaying extensive engine and alternator information, it allows for optimized mounting, reducing vibration for a smooth, peaceful voyage.
