Cummins Vessel Reference #645

Ready for work.

The marine works and dredging company LMD recently took delivery of a general cargo and heavy lift vessel from the prolific and versatile Italian shipyard Vittoria di Adria. At 60 meters in length with a 16-meter beam and a weight of 2300 gross tons the Alfredo is a hefty vessel designed for maximum productivity. As a bulk cargo vessel she can pack up to 1600 tons in her large 36X16-meter hold. She can load and off-load with her deck-mounted Sennebogen 6180 crane capable of lifting 200 tonnes with its 33 metre jib.

Cummins KTA50 M2

A big complex working vessel such as this needs big power and the Alfredo has it. A pair of Cummins KTA50 M2 engines each delivering 1600 HP at 1800 RPM provides the main propulsion. The two engines have separate engine rooms separated by a watertight bulkhead for safety. In addition to the two main engines, the Alfredo has six additional Cummins engines. These include two 6CTA8.3 generator set engines, two QSM11 DM to provide power for the vessel’s bow and stern thrusters, one 6BT DM for the emergency gen set and, for power in the crane, a Cummins QSK23 C. All engines, except that of the crane, were supplied by Sea Italia.
