Cummins Tier 4 Engines for Marine

Mariners know best, so they choose the best.

The productivity of your marine operation largely depends on one factor: uptime. How much you get done — and when you get it done — can make or break your success. You need reliable power that not only gets the job done, but also keeps up with ever-changing emissions standards. With a combination of clean in-cylinder combustion and integrated Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) aftertreatment, the Cummins QSK38 and QSK60 engines meet both EPA Tier 4 Final and IMO Tier III emissions standards — without sacrificing one ounce of horsepower.

The New Standard

By adding SCR aftertreatment to our already-proven QSK series, you can invest time where it matters most: out on the water, not with a mechanic. Best of all, you won’t have to sacrifice one ounce of power.

Cummins QSK60 Marine Engine

QSK60

The base of the QSK60 uses components from the proven K19, K38 and K50 engines. A new steel piston with a PVD-coated top ring and a nitride-coated second ring provides excellent durability, withstands higher temperatures and meets stringent emission norms.

The easy-to-install QSK60 aftertreatment eliminates midlife overhauls, delays component change-out until full overhaul and supports 500+ hours of operation before a fuel filter change is needed. The upgrade also provides:

  • Lower Tier 4 engine and aftertreatment initial cost
  • Better overall total fluid consumption
  • Lower total cost of ownership
Cummins QSK38 Marine Engine

QSK38

Also built using tried and tested components from our K19, K38 and K50 engines, the QSK38 features an updated cast-iron, ductile single-piece piston with nitride-coated rings and a hardened cylinder liner — for reliable power that matches previous models and keeps you compliant.

The easy-to-install QSK38 aftertreatment eliminates midlife overhauls, delays component change-out until full overhaul and supports 500+ hours of operation before a fuel filter change is needed. The upgrade also provides:

  • Improved fuel consumption
  • Lower total cost of ownership
  • Automatic catalyst health management without intervention
