About MDS:
MDS Associates is not a regular Cummins customer and has a buying pattern of once or twice a year.
With 30 years in the Rental Business, its current project was a metro construction site in Chennai – CMRL.
Customer Experience:
Our team got the opportunity to interact with the customer directly and explain how their support was crucial in getting the reliability hours clocked and keeping track of the first RLHP genset’s performance.
Initially, the customer agreed to install 1 genset, but later on, the team convinced them to install 2 reliability gensets.
Our team comprehensively explained the prime importance of confidentiality and the terms and conditions for this project to the customer.
The customer was extremely co-operative and was elated that the Cummins team came to him with this opportunity.
Installation and performance:
The customer agreed to uninstall their installed DG at the site and replace it with our RLHP gensets (58.5kVA).
This required arranging a crane at the site, co-ordination with the third party, and the installation workforce. The customer fulfilled all of this as per requirement.
The DG's were installed in extremely dusty conditions and was supporting the drilling, welding and lighting at the metro construction site.
There were some teething issues due to harsh weather conditions which were resolved immediately with the service engineer at site.
Irrespective of that, both the DGs ran for 20+ hours each day with varying load conditions. The Alpha 1 and 2 gensets clocked reliability hours higher than any other genset, with a total of 3300 running hours.
Success Criteria:
Our RLHP Gensets faced the test of time and excelled by clocking 3300 reliability hours.
The engineering and product development team came to the site for validations, while the DG needed to be shut down for a couple of hours for load testing.
Addressing teething issues proactively and on time led to an unhampered performance at the site.
Unwavering customer co-operation at all times led to the results as per requirements getting delivered on time.
