Critical times require critical oversight. The Cummins Board of Directors continues to provide the corporate guidance required to meet global challenges.
Governance — By the Numbers
Leadership transition
Rumsey becomes Cummins Chair and CEO
Cummins in 2023 completed the transition from former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Tom Linebarger to Chair and CEO Jennifer Rumsey. Linebarger retired Aug. 1, the same date Rumsey started as Chair and CEO, Cummins’ first female Chief Executive Officer. Linebarger’s remarkable 30-year career at Cummins included guiding the company through a global pandemic and the development of strategies for environmental sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas during 10 years as CEO.
Ethical behavior
Cummins' commitment to ethical behavior
Cummins’ sustainability is built on a foundation of ethical behavior going back to its founding more than 100 years ago. The company’s governance principles today are consistent with that tradition and Cummins’ vision, mission and values. The company has long been recognized as a leader in business ethics.
Board of Directors
Cummins' board offers key oversight on ESG
Cummins’ Board of Directors provides independent oversight on a host of issues, including environmental, social and governance excellence. The 2024 Proxy is the definitive source of information on the board. The board’s website also promotes transparency by making its governance documents available on its website.
Policy support
Taking a stand
Part of building a more prosperous world is taking a stand on issues that affect the company and the communities where we do business and our employees live and work. Cummins has taken stands on issues ranging from climate change to LGBTQ+ rights.
