The FAT-30™ Auxiliary Transmission

Extreme-duty vocational vehicles need an auxiliary transmission suited for a variety of on- and off-highway applications, including logging, mining, heavy haul, oil field and military. Cummins-Meritor’s rugged FAT-30 can handle 30,000 foot-pounds  (40,675 Nm) of input torque, giving it the highest torque rating in the industry at twice the capacity of other available products.

The FAT-30 is designed with a robust cast-iron housing, which mounts like a traditional transfer case and includes planetary gearing for quiet, smooth operation and compact installation. The advanced cooling system prevents overheating and the severe duty installation package keeps the box in the frame under even the most intense conditions for sustained periods of time.
