Connected Diagnostics™ and the Future of Supply Chain Analytics

By Michael Nagel, Leader - Global Brand

Cummins has always strived to be on the leading edge of technology. Our company was given the chance to discuss that commitment this month at the Business Analytics Forum 2015 hosted by the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Michael King – Director, Enterprise Business Intelligence, spoke at the event on how devices that work through the internet can improve safety.

One example is Connected Diagnostics™, a tool that wirelessly connects an engine to Cummins for immediate diagnosis of an engine system fault alert. When an engine system fault occurs, the telematics system within Connected Diagnostics instantly transmits key engine system and GPS data through the telematics connection. Owners immediately have information needed to make decisions within seconds of a fault occurrence, enabling them to avoid unnecessary expenses and lowering the potential for progressive engine system damage.
