Cummins' Dr. Jerry Z. Liu Recognized as SAE Fellow

Dr. Jerry Liu, Executive Scientist / Director of Analysis and Testing Technology at Cummins Emission Solutions (CES), was recently elected as a Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Fellow by SAE International. The prestigious honor is given to members of the organization who have made lasting impacts through leadership, research and innovation.

Dr. Liu joined Cummins in 1998. Since then, he has steadfastly devoted his efforts to the development of technologies and products to control engine emissions and to meet worldwide emission standards for on- and off-highway applications. He holds over 30 patents and has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers.

Dr. Liu’s significant contributions to Cummins have previously been recognized with the Irwin Miller Award and the Dr. Julius Perr Innovation Award. Currently, he leads Cummins Emission Solutions’ Analysis and Testing Technology group, a cross-functional team of experts in Materials, Applied Mechanics & Acoustics, Emissions Development, Thermal and Fluid Sciences, Chemistry and Kinetics, and Environmental Compliance. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

SAE Fellow is the highest grade of membership bestowed by SAE International. It recognizes outstanding engineering, scientific and leadership accomplishments by an individual that have resulted in meaningful advances in automotive, aerospace and commercial vehicle technologies.
