Ankara’s new Metromall provided paralleling solution from Cummins
Metromall is a new mixed-use development in Turkey’s capital Ankara, comprising office, retail and residential spaces. A retractable roof is the first for any Ankara shopping center, and an end-to-end skylight, outdoor cafés and expansive seating and walking areas both inside and out add to the spacious, open design. There are large entertainment areas, including bowling, billiards and a cinema, and plentiful dining options. The residential project offers a variety of dwellings and floor plans for its residents of varied lifestyles along five blocks of property.
Cummins Turkey has supplied 11 Cummins generator sets working in parallel that provide backup power in the event of a utility failure. The standby power system is comprised of 7 x C1675D5A, 3 x C1100D5B and 1 x C700D5 diesel generators, coupled with the latest in controls technology with the Cummins PowerCommand® Control 3.3 and masterless load demand. MLD allows the controller to smartly manage power from paralleled generators and match varying load patterns, offering additional flexibility and fuel savings.
Cummins authorized dealer AET Güç Sistemleri San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti of Ankara led the project, supplying circuit breakers locally and providing technical assistance to the customer during the entire commissioning phase. Cummins Turkey also provided technical support with ventilation and noise. The customer, Sogut Construction, selected Cummins and its dealer as its standby power provider based on previous experience, ability to meet a tight delivery schedule and exceptional service, reliability and partnership from project planning through execution. Metromall opened in late 2017.
