Cogeneration Technology Headlines South American Seminar

The use of natural gas as a fuel source is growing in countries in South America, especially Argentina and Chile.

The Living Green BUPAC (Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile) Cogeneration Training brought consultants and engineers together to learn more about cogeneration's many benefits.

As operators seek out energy solutions that are efficient and sustainable, cogeneration is one that maximizes efficiency by producing electrical and thermal energy from a single fuel source. Also called combined heat and power (CHP) systems, cogeneration cuts energy consumption and operation costs.

Twenty-five sales consultants and engineers from Cummins distributors in South America convened in Buenos Aires, Argentina the end of 2018 to learn more about cogeneration’s many benefits. The training – the first for the region and following a cogeneration seminar in Mexico a few months earlier – served as a forum to discuss new solutions in energy and new technologies to bring to Latin American markets.

The Living Green BUPAC (Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile) Cogeneration Training was held from Oct. 30 through Nov. 1, 2018, at Sullair Argentina, Cummins authorized distributor. Living Green BUPAC presented a broad and general vision of a cogeneration system: definition, parts and functions of the equipment, operating principles, operating conditions, market, costs, standard designs and selection tools to enable the salesforce to provide power and innovative solutions for the success of our customers.
