Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) announced several leaders were named vice presidents. These appointments are effective March 1, and consistent with the company's approach to succession planning and leadership development to ensure the company is best positioned for continued growth and success.
“These leaders have key roles in shaping our strategy to navigate both short-term challenges and our transition to a decarbonized future,” said Jennifer Rumsey, President and COO, Cummins Inc.

Rob Enright – Vice President, New and ReCon Parts

With this promotion, Enright will continue to lead the New and ReCon Parts (NRP) business, a role he has held since 2016. During his tenure, he has overseen NRP’s strategic and operational performance and led the business to record revenues. As an officer, Enright will also assume responsibility for the supply chain across the Aftermarket and Distribution Business (DBU), which was previously led by Bonnie Fetch, Vice President – Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing. In his expanded role, Enright will continue to report to Bonnie Fetch.

Enright has been with Cummins for nearly three decades and has assumed positions of increasing responsibility across the aftermarket, including both on the commercial and supply chain sides of the business. Beginning his career as a product engineer, he then held roles in operations, account management, business development, parts distribution center plant management (Belgium) and marketing before taking on the role of NRP General Manager. With this promotion and expanded role, he will continue to play a critical role in leading the development of the aftermarket strategy for Cummins’ growth areas and will assume leadership for progressing the DBU and aftermarket supply chain integration with a focus on restoring the health of the supply chain across the aftermarket.

“Rob is driven by delivering on Cummins’ brand promise of innovation and dependability and delighted by how his team works to give new life to Cummins products and keep them running for our customers,” added Rumsey.

Tim Frazier, Vice President - Research & Technology (R&T)

“To fully leverage the growth opportunity that decarbonization presents for Cummins, we need to amplify the technical expertise of leaders like Tim Frazier,” said Rumsey. “In his role as Executive Director of the Advanced Engineering organization, Tim has been instrumental in shaping our strategy to reduce both criteria and CO2 emissions from our products and a key partner to me and other business leaders in developing our Destination Zero strategy and technology roadmap.”

Building upon that work, Frazier’s promotion to an officer of the company is coupled with his transition to a new role leading Corporate R&T, reporting to Cummins’ Chief Technical Officer Jim Fier. In this role, Frazier will draw upon his experience from across R&T, Value Package Introduction (VPI) and the current product domain, and strong connections across the company, to continue advancing current technologies and developing innovative low-carbon solutions for the future.

Frazier has been with Cummins for more than 20 years. He has contributed to performance and emissions controls across the product range and served in a variety of business and technical leadership roles. Throughout his tenure, he has played a critical role in R&T. He spent his earliest years developing ultra-clean combustion solutions for diesel and natural gas, and created and led R&T system performance development for critical aftertreatment, thermal management and regeneration and controls across Cummins’ product line. Frazier is passionate about and committed to his involvement with the community in Columbus, Ind. (U.S.).

Priscila Mendes, Vice President – Global Purchasing

Purchasing has always been a critical function at Cummins, focused on ensuring the company is able to source and receive the right materials and services at the right time and at the right cost. “During the past two years, our supply chain resiliency has been tested like never before because of constraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Priscila Mendes’ leadership in Purchasing has been key to that work and success, guiding her team to focus on reducing risk and increasing flexibility while still meeting and exceeding Cummins’ needs for cost, quality and delivery to win in the marketplace,” said Rumsey

Mendes’ nearly 20-year career with Cummins has been dedicated entirely to leadership roles within the Purchasing function. After her first role as the Brazil Purchasing Leader, she served as the Global Sourcing Director for Forgings, led Indirect and then Direct Purchasing for Latin America, headed up Global Indirect Purchasing and, most recently, leads Global Purchasing

Mendes was key to executing and ensuring the success of the Purchasing Transformation, creating a structure to best support thousands of indirect customers across Cummins and deliver significant value to the company.

Her global mindset and experiences fuel her passion for diversity, and she is a true champion of the company’s values inside and outside of Cummins. With this promotion, Mendes will continue to sit on the Supply Chain leadership team and report directly to Bonnie Fetch, Vice President - Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

Thierry Pimi, Vice President – Africa Middle East (AME) Area Business Organization (ABO)

As head of the AME ABO since 2018, Thierry oversees operations in a massive territory primarily focused on customer sales, service and support, with nearly 2,000 employees bolstering that work.

“Thierry has an extensive career in our Distribution segment, leading efforts to improve customer experience in the region. With this promotion, he will continue to report to Tracy Embree, Vice President and President – Distribution segment,” said Rumsey

Thierry joined Cummins in 2009 in the Corporate Strategy team where he led several projects involving growth, profitability, divestiture and acquisition, competitor analysis and capacity planning. In 2011, he was appointed Africa Mining Business Leader, assumed the role of General Manager – North and West Africa Region in 2014, and led the Southern Africa Regional Distribution Business prior to his current role.

Thierry has deep relationships with customers and partners in the region and is focused on how to position the ABO to provide external and internal stakeholders with the best Cummins experience possible. Most recently, he has led efforts in the region to deliver on gross margin commitments, improve cost controls across multiple entities, implement a business strategy to defend important markets and improve the focus on building the right environment. Additionally, Thierry has personally engaged in building the leadership culture in the AME region while at the same time growing and developing his own leadership capabilities.
Thierry is passionate about driving accountability and achieving results with a diverse, inclusive and highly-motivated team. His regional perspective is an important addition to Cummins’ extended leadership team.

Steve Saxby, Vice President – Engineering, China Area Business Organization (ABO)

“The addition of another significant regional perspective comes with the promotion of Steve Saxby who leads Engineering for our China ABO. He is an integral member of the China ABO leadership team and will continue to report to Nathan Stoner, Vice President – China ABO, with this promotion. Steve will also maintain his strong connection with the Technical function and position on the Cummins Technical Leadership Team,” said Rumsey.

During his 25-years with Cummins, Saxby has been on the front lines of advancing products that fulfill the company’s brand promise. He began his career at Cummins’ European Technical Center in Darlington (U.K.) and moved to China in 2007, quickly assuming roles with additional leadership responsibilities. His current role involves leading strategic planning and development of a broad portfolio of products serving diverse application markets, engineering support to customers and joint venture partners, overseeing Product Certification and Regulatory Affairs, and driving VPI efforts for the ABO. He also serves as the chairman of Cummins East Asia R&D Center.

Saxby has the keen ability to look across the company’s businesses in China and set a comprehensive strategy. He played a critical role in implementing the China Fit For Market strategy, ensuring successful launch of National Standard (NS) IV/V/VI and China Standard (CS) III/IV products and supporting engine, components and power generation business growth in China. Also, he is passionate about the connection between creating the right working environment and Cummins’ ability to continue building up the engineering function with the best, most diverse talent.

“Each of these leaders brings such different and important experiences and attributes to our company. Collectively, these promotions acknowledge their efforts and the role they play in our continued and future success,” concluded Rumsey.
