Motor Coach Center and Tag Axle

The Meritor MC-26000^™ center non-drive axle for low-floor to 60-foot articulated transit buses features a center drop, no-weld design with integral suspension brackets. The design increases carrying capacity and improves passenger comfort for a more profitable operation. Brake options include Meritor EX+^™ H air disc brakes and Meritor 16.5-inch x 8.625-inch Cast+^™ cam brakes featuring a single-piece cast shoe, extended-life brake linings and an integral return spring mount for unmatched durability, longer life, easy assembly, less maintenance and reduced downtime.

For motor coaches, Cummins-Meritor also has a full lineup of tag axles specifically designed for these applications. The MC-14000^™ and MC-16000^™ rigid tag axles are custom-designed for the motor coach market with integrated suspension connection points directly into the axle. They have a GAWR of 14,000 to 16,000 lbs. (6.4 to 7.3 tons) and offer drum or EX+ H disc brake options.
