Applications
- Cummins B4.5 is the new generation 4-cylinder engine providing optimum performance for India duty cycle requirement. Customers will benefit from exceptional performance and low operating costs, with the reliability and durability expected from Cummins.
- Key environmental benefits include low noise and low emissions capability. Based on Cummins experience of off-highway applications in India, the BF4.5 has been developed with high performance and low weight, for wide range of construction and agricultural equipment for wide range of earth moving, road construction and agricultural equipment.
- Torque and power is high for engine of this size & weight, making them ideal for weight sensitive and space constrained installations. Superior Analysis- Led design makes the Cummins B4.5 engines the lightest and the strongest engine in their displacement class whilst the modular architecture enables easy upgrade for future emissions requirements.
Features & Benefits
More efficiency
B4.5 provides fuel economy better than the traditional 6-cylinder engines helping save the operational cost for the end customers.
More productivity
B4.5 provides best in class power density, which helps engine downsizing to provide better TCO to the end customers without
scarifying on the performance. B4.5 delivers the same power & torque as that of mechanical 6-cylinder engines thanks to the common rail fuel system & better PCP (Peak Cylinder Pressure) capability of the engine.
Less complexity
EGR free engine with simple waste-gate turbo & aftertreatment system. Aftertreatment system is in the form of single module system consists of SCR & DOC. Smaller dimensions than other types of aftertreatment make this catalyst ideal for space-constrained equipment. Together, the DOC and Cummins SCR work as a fully integrated, ultra-clean aftertreatment system. Extremely robust packaging ensures that the aftertreatment system achieves durability equal to that of the B4.5 engine.
Easy maintenance and less total cost of ownership
B4.5 engine is easier to maintain as it comes with maintenance less breather and minimum 500 hrs maintenance interval which can be further extended. Being EGR-free provides better reliability & higher uptime. Fuel cost is the major TCO element, with B4.5 fluid savings will be minimum 5% compared to the traditional 6-cylinder engine, thus providing better TCO.
