Frequently Asked Questions

Based on applications, diesel generators include portable generators, inverter generators, and standby generators. Portable or small generators can easily be placed and is used mainly in local area shops like hotels, stores, car, and bike showrooms to different appliances. Inverter generators produce more AC electrical energy per engine rotation so the raw electricity transforms into DC power. Both of these generators can power various types of tools and appliances depending on the item’s running and surge wattage. A standby generator operates automatically by sensing power cuts. They are used for backups as industrial, residential, or commercial diesel generator.

There are many eCommerce aggregator stores and websites where diesel generator options are available for sale. If you want to purchase one directly from a diesel generator company, companies like Cummins have many options available. You can get detailed product brochures, choose your specification and diesel generator price, and send in an enquiry for purchase. You can also place bulk orders for different generators. Kilowatt (or 1000 watts) is the base unit for measuring electrical energy. A kW rating is essentially the resulting power output a generator can supply based on the horsepower of an engine. Kilowatt hours (kWh) is the amount of energy you would use if you kept a 1 kW appliance running for one hour. So, if a generator continuously outputs 1 kW of power for 1 hour, 1 kWh of energy is produced.  That is why, the amount of electricity generated is rated in kWh.

A kVA is 1,000 volt amps. A volt is electrical pressure. An amp is electrical current. kVA is used for the rating of an electrical circuit. It is also known as Apparent Power. kVA is the product of a circuit's maximum current and voltage rating. Fundamentally, kVA denotes the value of power (Voltage * Current). It can be calculated dividing Power (P) by Power Factor (PF) i.e. kVA = kW / PF.
