Innovating for the maritime industry

Cummins is joining you as you navigate the maritime energy transition. With our current innovations such as the methanol-ready QSK60 engine, Cummins is committed to working toward sustainable and practical solutions that enable emissions reduction with minimal vessel infrastructure changes. We know there is not going to be a one-size-fits-all approach across different applications and vessel types to meet the short- and long-term industry decarbonization goals. Therefore, Cummins is exploring a multi-pathway approach to meet these diverse needs, finding the right technology for each unique operation.

Today, we’re developing dual-fuel systems designed to reduce carbon within your existing fleet. In addition, we’re continuing our work on electrification systems, including hybrid integration, and evaluating alternative fuel technologies with ethanol, hydrogen and methanol — providing the flexibility for new and existing propulsion systems. And with the approval of renewable and bio drop-in fuels, including hydrotreated vegetable oil, we are able to help mariners significantly reduce emissions through flexible, easily adoptable solutions, today.
