Cummins celebrates evolution of Centum™ Series product line with 2-day launch event at Minnesota Power Systems Headquarters
Global power leader Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) marked the launch of its newest product line, an evolution of the Centum™ Series generator sets, with a 2-day event at their Power Systems headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota. The celebration, held on 9th and 10th April 2024, highlighted the new C1750D6E, C2000D6E, C2750D6E and C3000D6EB generator sets, designed for mission critical applications and backed by a pair of new engine platforms: the QSK50 (C1750D6E and C2000D6E) and QSK78 (C2750D6E and C3000D6EB).
The launch event was well attended by over 100 customers from around the globe and representatives from the critical industries and applications the Centum Series powers such as data centers, healthcare facilities and waste-water treatment plants. Attendees received an exclusive look at the new generator sets as well as a showcase of Cummins’ fully integrated power systems including transfer switches, system level controls and remote monitoring. Cummins senior leadership, including Jennifer Rumsey, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, were in attendance and presented to the audience as well as toured the product showcase with local government and national media representatives.

We introduced the first Centum Series models at 1250kW and 1500kW on the 38-liter platform in July 2022, recently the 1750kW and 2000kW models based on the 50-liter engine and now introduce the 2750kW and 3000kW models based on the 78-liter engine. Other highlights of the event were learning session hosted by Cummins business leaders, engineers and subject matter experts educating attendees on the company’s long-term commitment to Power Generation innovation and exclusive insights to Cummins’ cleaner future of alternative fuels and their overarching Destination Zero strategy. Customers had the opportunity to tour Cummins’ Power Systems plant, the Acoustical Technology Center, and the recently launched microgrid testing lab, the Power Integration Center, all housed with the Fridley, Minnesota manufacturing plant campus.
