Cummins earns top honors for mental health leadership and creative excellence
By Cummins Inc., Global Power Technology Leader
Cummins Inc. has received two national honors for its leadership in workplace mental health and creative communication. The company earned the 2025 Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America, and a Platinum Hermes Creative Award for its “It’s OK” campaign, developed in partnership with agency, Westcomm.
“Our people are our greatest strength,” said Marvin Boakye, Chief Human Resources Officer. “These recognitions align with Cummins’ Total Rewards strategy—focused on supporting employee health, wealth, life and career. By investing in holistic well-being, we help employees thrive personally and professionally.”
Why this matters
The Bell Seal evaluates employers on workplace culture, benefits, compliance and wellness efforts. In 2025, 359 employers were certified, with just 32% earning gold status. The Platinum Hermes Award—the program’s highest honor—recognizes excellence in concept, writing and design, as judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
Driving a culture of well-being
Launched in 2020, “It’s OK” is Cummins’ global campaign to normalize mental health conversations and reduce stigma. In 2024, the campaign expanded to address whole-person wellness—encompassing mental, financial, physical and social well-being. It includes a dedicated website, global newsletter, podcasts, webinars, toolkits, digital signage, and more than 120 employee and leader stories. Employees also benefit from weekly meditation sessions, safe space forums and in-person manager training, with more than 500 U.S. managers trained to date. This year, Cummins launched a financial wellness information center in the U.S., with plans for global expansion, and completed a global Total Rewards survey to gather targeted insights on employee benefit offerings. All these efforts are made possible by the dedication of employees, leaders and wellness champions who collaborate to live out the company’s values —every day.
