Cummins displays range of power solutions at Busworld 2025

Cummins Inc (NYSE: CMI) will showcase a broad portfolio of bus and coach power solutions on Stand 810, Hall 8 at Busworld 2025 (4-9 October).
Cummins engines on display include a first look at the new X10 Euro VI, as well as the B6.7H hydrogen combustion engine and L9N natural gas engine - highlighting the company’s commitment to progressing advanced engine technologies.
Expanding beyond engines, Cummins is highlighting its broader portfolio with the introduction of a new independent front suspension (IFS) axle. Additionally, Accelera™ by Cummins, the company’s zero-emissions business segment, is displaying its Advanced lithium iron phosphate (LFP) tiered battery platform at the show.
Cummins states that this range of products has been developed to give vehicle manufacturers the power of choice as they approach Euro 7 and CO₂ HDV emissions regulations. Its range of products, now broader than ever, is focused on improving operational performance whilst reducing emissions across key applications like city bus, as well as heavy-duty and longer-range vehicles such as inter-urban buses and coaches.
Felipe Rocha - General Manager Cummins On-Highway, Europe, said:
“Cummins continues to prioritise its OEM customers’ needs, especially at a time when our industry is changing and the path forward is not always straightforward. From the clean-sheet X10 Euro VI engine to zero emissions solutions from Accelera, we are strengthening our commitment to developing advanced technologies that reduce emissions whilst delivering dependable power that bus and coach operators can rely on. This aligns with our Destination Zero strategy to provide practical technologies at scale, and at the right time, to power our industries towards a lower emissions future.”
Cummins X10 Euro VI engine
With a power ratings spanning 265 – 338 kW (355 - 454 hp) for inter-urban bus and coach applications and peak torque at 2200 Nm, the X10 has been developed by Cummins following significant market demand for a broader power range at Euro VI. The introduction of this engine takes Cummins’ Euro VI bus and coach product range from 2.8-litres to 10-litres displacement.
Exclusively optimised for inter-urban buses and coaches, and with third-party hybrid compatibility, the X10 Euro VI provides 6-8% improved fuel economy compared to current engines in its class. The single stage, modular aftertreatment also reduces weight and maintenance complexity, whilst supporting the transition to Euro 7 due to platform and integration commonality.
Powering hydrogen ICE technology
Rated at 216 kW (290 hp) and with 1200 Nm peak torque, the B6.7H provides diesel-like performance using zero carbon hydrogen fuel, in intercity and coach applications in the 9-12m range. It enables progression towards ultra-low tailpipe emissions in a way that is familiar to OEMs and operators. Integration does not require a major vehicle redesign due to parts commonality with current diesel and natural gas-powered equivalents.
L9N: keeping emissions to a minimum
Offering up to 239 kW (320 hp) and 1,356 Nm torque, the ultra-low emission L9N on display at Busworld can be powered by renewable natural gas (RNG), further reducing carbon emissions from well-to-wheel.
Its three-way catalyst treatment system also reduces particulate matter and nitrous oxide (NOx), whilst maintaining performance and reliability. It combines the sustainability benefits of natural gas, whilst optimising power and torque capabilities.
Accelera™ by Cummins
Accelera is showcasing its Advanced LFP tiered battery platform at Busworld 2025. This modular system offers customisable power, enhanced safety and optimised performance for commercial vehicle applications. With up to five tier configurations, the Advanced LFP platform is specially suited for space-constrained applications like low-floor city buses.
Note: Accelera will launch a brand-new zero emissions technology at Busworld.
Independent suspensions and beam axles
As part of its wider portfolio of technologies, Cummins is displaying its latest Independent Front Suspension (IFS) axle at Busworld. This “drop-in” MIS-09 replacement technology is purpose-built for the most demanding applications. The ProTec™ IFS provides reliable suspension for bus and coach, minimising maintenance cycles. Steering pivots improve driver control and stability for safe and confident handling. The technology has been extensively tested to ensure durability, as well as having a fully-integrated suspension and steering system.
