Cold-start management is significantly improved with the integration of advanced glow plug technology, delivering a critical solution for reaching optimal in-cylinder conditions and ensuring quick and reliable engine starts in cold conditions. This enhancement reduces the wait-to-start time and ensures reliable vehicle operation even in the most extreme weather conditions.

Chassis Cab models offer power take-off (PTO) capability for left- and right-side operation.

The oil filter and dual fuel filter (located on the right side of the engine) are now thoughtfully positioned to enable serviceability from the top side of the engine. This improves the ease of maintenance — resulting in faster and less complex servicing.

Advanced air handling design provides optimized airflow efficiencies. This accompanies a new high-pressure fuel delivery system that offers top feed dry service injectors and a new fuel pump. This engine was designed with improved efficiency while meeting the needed performance expectations, including:

• redesigned block with improved cooling and pressure capability
• Robust heavy-duty pistons
• New performance intake manifold with improved flow
• Improved head intake/exhaust port flow and larger intake/exhaust valves
• New high-performance turbo
• New high-pressure fuel system

Flash-over-the-air software enables remote updates, allowing many calibrations to be seamlessly pushed to the vehicle without the need for a return to the shop. 

Improvements in towing speeds and responsiveness, with faster 0-60 mph and quarter-mile times, especially when towing heavy loads. These enhancements promise drivers smoother transient responses and greater confidence under towing conditions.

Noise, vibration and harshness were also improved using helical valve train synchronizing gears which enable a quieter ride.

Enhanced performance with noticeable gains in acceleration and power with High-Output Pickup ratings of 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque and Chassis Cab ratings of 360 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque.
