Frequently asked questions

See the list below to answer all your questions about the 2027 X15™.

This 2027 X15™ will be manufactured at the Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant in New York.

The 2027 X15 platform is tested and proven across the globe. Extensive field and engineering testing within North America further proves the validation across multiple vehicle brands and applications.

The architecture uses a belt-driven, high output 48-volt alternator to provide power for an aftertreatment heater solution optimized for increasingly stringent emission standards. This technology allows for the reduction of NOx output across all operating conditions (cold start, light loads, no load conditions) without sacrificing fuel economy.

At a system level, meaning engine and aftertreatment, weight is expected to remain neutral to the 2024 X15 system.

Compared to the 2024 X15, customers can expect up to a 4% fuel efficiency improvement on the base engine with additional improvements available through powertrain features.
